Kaylea Wesson

Kaylea Ann Wesson, 19, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at UNC Hospital after a 10-month courageous battle with cancer with her loving family by her side.  She was born in Alamance County to Dawn Marie Lee and Craig Franklin Wesson III.

She was a 2020 graduate of Southern Alamance High School where she was very active in FFA all four years and was a Girl Scout with Troop #400028.  Kaylea formerly worked at Subway on Maple Ave. in Burlington.  She was a true animal lover and a mama to her potbelly pig Fred, two hedge hogs, two rabbits, five cats, several chickens, a guinea, and her two dogs.  Kaylea was a loving and special daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend who will be missed dearly.

Kaylea is survived by her mom, Dawn Lee and her daddy, Timmy Brooks; father, Craig (Laura) Wesson III; brothers, Jeremy Lee and Craig Wesson; sisters, Brianna Wesson and Madison Murphy; maternal grandparents, Lisa and Red Carver; paternal grandparents, Susan Wesson and Craig F. Wesson; aunts and uncles, Tasha (Nate) Dawson, Josh (Melissa) Lee and Carrie (Kevin) Coombs; cousins, Kaden, Jase, Makayla, Kensie, Harper, Aliya, Brook, and Austin; special friends, Brandon McDonald, Billy Mize, Mr. John Ramos, Jocelyn Lagunas, Veeral, and Grace Woodmansee; canine companions, Blossom and Rayray.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Kenneth Lee.

The family will be having a Gathering from 5pm to 7pm Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at Lisa and Red Carver’s home in Elon.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Cedar Rock Park in Burlington, N.C. from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Shelter #2.
