Burlington, NC Kay Plummer James, age 65, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at UNC Hospital. She was a native of Elkhart, Indiana and the wife of 44 years to Daniel E. James who survives. Kay was employed with UNC Hospitals in the reproductive endocrinology department. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks. Kay devoted herself to loving and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel E. James, Jr. and his companion, Jenny Stott of Ruckersville, Virginia and Howard A. James and his wife, Tammy of Snow Camp; daughter and son-in-law, Audrey James Rose and her husband, Tony of Burlington; grandchildren, Dylan Bowes, Autumn and Brynna Rose; sister and brother-in-law, Nora J. Webb and her husband, G. Brandley of Elkhart, Indiana; brother and sister-in-law, F. David Plummer and his wife, Terry Stutz of Elkhart, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank B. Jr. and Sarah Reynolds Plummer. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, August. 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Graham by Rev. Dr. Ken Hall, Sr. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
