Kathryn Marie Mast

Mrs. Kathryn Marie Mast, age 78, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health.

     Born in Watauga County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Frank Mast and the late Olive Triplett Mast and was married to Thomas R. Shideler, who survives.  A graduate of Appalachian St. University, she was employed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture before retiring from Carolina Biological with 30 years of service.  She was an avid reader and active in several book clubs but also enjoyed ballroom dancing and needle work.

     Mrs. Mast is survived by her husband of the home; a sister, Mary Preslar; a niece; and a nephew.

     There will be no services at this time.
