Kathryn Hopkins

Kathryn Morton Hopkins, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born in Person County to the late John Carlyle and Elma Catherine Long Morton and was married to the late Aaron Devoy Hopkins, Sr. She was a member of Union Ridge Church, the church choir and the Richard Jackson Circle. Kathryn was a Meals-On-Wheels volunteer. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was the Mother of the year in 2003 at Union Ridge Church.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny Hopkins (Kathy) and Jimmy Hopkins (Martha); grandchildren, Derek Hopkins (Pam), Adam Hopkins (Jennifer), Connor and Kalie Hopkins and great grandchildren, Garrett, Cullen and Caroline. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Aaron Devoy Hopkins, Jr. and a brother, John Irvin Morton.
The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Union Ridge Church by Rev. Dan Ficklin with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Ridge Church 115 Altamahaw-Union Ridge Rd., Burlington, NC 27217 or to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
