Kathleen Crawford

Burlington - Kathleen "Kate" A. Crawford, 63, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on July 22, 1953 at the Tokyo Army Medical Hospital in Tokyo, Japan to the late Dr. George E. McCrossan, Jr. and Anne L. McCrossan and was the wife to John N. Crawford of 30 years.

Kate retired from the mortgage industry, where she was very active in the industry. She was co-founder and past president of the North Carolina Association of Mortgage Professionals, and later received an award for broker of the year. She also was a member of AOII National Sorority and the Alumni Association; served on the Board of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers; past president of Alamance Burlington Kiwanis and previously served as Lt. Governor of North Carolina Kiwanis, graduate of Leadership of Alamance, active in United Way and member of American Business Women's Association. Kate attended and graduated from Wall High School, Wall, NJ and Purdue University, West Lafayette, ID; was a member of the Church of The Holy Comforter where she previous served on the Vestry.

Survivors other than her husband, John include her son, E. Graham Crawford; a sister, Maureen M. Jordan and Ron Rumbley.

The celebration of life service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday October 1, 2016 at the Holy Comforter Church by The Rev. Adam J. Shoemaker, Rector. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.
