Kathleen Wallich Bridges

Kathleen Margaret Wallich Bridges, 77, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 28, 1944, in Hudson County, NJ to the late Eugene Leo Wallich and Mary Mercurio Wallich, and was the wife of 57 years to Phillip Alton Bridges, who survives.

Kathleen retired from the University of North Carolina after 21 years of service and also worked at Southern Season for several years after retiring.

She always loved the big family gatherings that brought her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren together at her home. She also enjoyed working in her yard, crocheting, word puzzles, baking, and cooking – especially her famous homemade lasagna, sauce and meatballs that she worked on for two solid days for us to enjoy every year for Christmas dinner.

Survivors other than her husband, Phillip Bridges, of the home, include her daughters Noreen Fowler and husband Jerry, Kathleen Bridges, Nanette Fowler and husband Patrick, and Natalie Isley and husband Mike; grandchildren, Kevin Fisher Jr., J.L. Fowler and wife Courtney, Brian Lowe, Kristen Isley and fiancé Greg Grooms, Michelle Isley and significant other Brandon Dooley, Jennafer Tucker and husband Jeremiah, Sierra Webster and husband Nicolas, Patrick Fowler II and wife Alexis, and Rebekah Fowler; great grandchildren, Aaron Cook, Kaylee Worth, Jacoby Powell, L. J. Worth, Jackson Fowler, Nolan Fowler, Lucas Worth, Eden Webster, Braelynn Tucker, Noah Fowler, Hadleigh Webster, Ellie Grooms, and another great granddaughter on the way.

Per Kathleen’s wishes there will be no services.
