Katherine Thompson

Katherine was a longtime member of Hope Church where she served as a greeter.  She had a fulfilling career and retired from Honda Power Equipment after many years of dedicated service as a quality control technician. She was also a former “Ms. Burlington”.

Outside of work, Katherine's true passion lay in her devotion to her family and friends.  She found joy in being there for others and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her kind-hearted nature touched the lives of many and made a positive impact on those around her as she volunteered her time to various causes like Meals on Wheels and countless others. Katherine explored her creative side through art as she had a knack for drawing.  She also enjoyed running on the beach and she loved butterflies.

Katherine is survived by her devoted husband of 19 years, Timothy "Timmy" Thompson; daughter, Brandy Christine McMillan (James); her cherished grandchildren, Cody and Jacob McMillan; brothers, Patrick Dixon (Sandy), Jody Dixon, Steve Dixon, Michael Dixon, and Robbie Dixon. She also leaves behind special friends Eddie Lewis (Vonda), Linda Terrell Rowland, Karen Terrell Beal, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and other dear friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Hope Church Burlington by Pastor Tad Grandstaff. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home.
