Katherine Gentry

Katherine Walker Gentry, 86, of 108 Trinity Dr. passed away Sunday June 18, 2006 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center after several years of failing health and one week critical illness. She was the wife of Herbert Howard Gentry and they enjoyed sixty-two years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Oscar T. and Laura Cline Walker. Katherine was a native of Cabarrus County, she retired from Annedeen Hosiery Mill and was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband of the home, a sister Mary Elizabeth Barnhardt of Concord, special friends Derek and Dottie Hinton of Elon, two nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Larry Wayne Gentry and a brother Roy Brown Walker. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Stephen Rust. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:30 - 1:30 PM Wednesday prior to the funeral and at other times at the home.
