Juvernia Meding

Elon Mrs. Juvernia "Jay" Clowes Meding, age 84, of Holmes Way, formerly of Mebane, passed away Sunday May 2, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Born in Springdale, PA, she was the wife of the late Theodore B. "Ted" Meding and daughter of the late Leroy J. and Maude Hall Clowes. She and her husband spent most of their lives in New Providence, NJ before retiring to Mebane. She graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers' College in 1946 and taught school for several years. She later was employed by The Atlantic Insurance Companies in Short Hills, NJ. Survivors include her daughters, Janine Osborne and husband Ron of Burlington and Dr. Twyla Meding, of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren, Sarah Katherine Osborne and Anna Grey Osborne; sister-in-law, Margaret J. Meding of Cedar Grove, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday May 6, 2010 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jennie Hemrick and Rev. Norman Whitney. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Meding will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm Wednesday and at other times the home of Janine and Ron Osborne, 412 Devonshire Lane, Burlington, NC.
