June Barbour Johnson

Mrs. June Barbour Johnson, 74, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

June was born March 2, 1947 in Durham County to Harvey Barbour, Jr. and Lila Creech Barbour.  She was a woman of strong Christian faith and spent her life devoting herself to various ministries in the churches she attended.  Above all, she was a wonderful and loving wife and mother and will be deeply missed by her family.  In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Wayne Stephenson.

June is survived by her best friend and husband of 42 years, Jerry Johnson; sons, Paul “Mike” Stephenson and Jerry Johnson, Jr.; daughters, Tracy Herman and Shelly Erdner; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and brothers, Howard Barbour, Larry Barbour, and Barry Barbour.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11 AM at Holly Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Gene Hunsinger officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
