Julia Ann Emerson Wallen, 75 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at ARMC. She was born in Miami, Florida but then moved to Chattanooga, TN where she grew up. Julia was the daughter of the late Ernest Frank Emerson, Sr. and Peggy Clark Emerson and was married for over 52 years to William Moses Wallen, who survives.
Julia worked for BB&T for many years until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and bird watching while in her garden and was a former member of Grove Park Baptist Church. Her family will remember her for being the best wife, mom and Mimi. Julia’s beautiful spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, William M. Wallen; children, Joy Southern (Lonnie) and Chadd Wallen (Beth); grandchildren, Ashley Tilley, Chole Bae, Kara Hester, Hannah Brennan, Isaac Wallen, Abram Wallen and Lilly Wallen; great granddaughter, Claribella Brennan; siblings, Ernie Emerson and Star Cordell as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Robyn Holmes who passed in 2006.
A service to celebrate Julia’s life will be held at a later date.
