Burlington, NC Julia Smith Rudd, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Liberty Commons surrounded by her family. Julia was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Robert Hulan Rudd. Julia retired from Twin Lakes and was a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church. She was a member of the Christian Workers Sunday School Class and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Anita Ann Rife and her husband, Phillip of Danville, Illinois and Amy Pritchard and her husband, Paul of Burlington; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Fields and her husband, Timothy Chad Fields of Burlington and Andrew Rife of Danville, Illinois; step grandchildren, Christopher Rife and Corey Rife; four step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parents, Alson Cornelius and Fannie Vann Finley Smith; grandson, Chester Allen Bennett and twelve siblings. The Rudd family wants to thank the nurses and staff of ARMC in the Telemetry, Oncology and ER departments along with the nurses and staff of Liberty Commons and Liberty Hospice. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Glen Raven Baptist Church by Rev. Bobby Fann and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 pm on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Fields in Burlington.
