McLeansville-Julia Rudd Pritchett, 85, died on Sunday, February 4th, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital after a long battle with leukemia. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of Clarence and Ida Rudd. She and her husband, Vernon Estine Pritchett, were married for 66 years.
Julia retired from Lorillard in 1987, after 30 years of service. She was a long-standing member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in McLeansville. She spent most of her time reading widely and attending to her large family, which included three children, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Julia is survived by her husband, Vernon; sister, Linda Wicker of Whitsett; daughter, Cindy Huffines (Jim) of McLeansville; sons, Jeff Pritchett of Greensboro and Jon Pritchett (Joan) of Youngsville, NC; grandsons, Todd Huffines (Cristal) of Browns Summit, Andrew Huffines of McLeansville, Zach Pritchett of Charleston, SC, and Chase Pritchett of Clemson, SC; granddaughters, Betsy Daley (Jeremy) of Palmetto, FL, Meredith Pritchett of Charleston, SC, and Julia-Claire Pritchett of Youngsville, NC; great granddaughters, Caroline Daley and Cynthia Daley and great grandsons, Ethan Huffines and Justin Burns. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as sister, Nancy Kellam.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, February 9th, 2018 at 11:00 am at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and the burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 -7 pm on Thursday, February 8th at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington and at other times at the residence.
