Julia Messick

Miss Julia Alice Messick, age 97, formerly of Vaughn Rd. passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Turner P. and Annette Myers Messick. She was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church and was a retired as bookkeeper for Dura Tread Hosiery after 35 years of service. Survivors include her nieces and nephews: T. Paul "Tip" Messick and his wife, Christina, of Stockholm, Sweden; Leslie Messick Baumbach and her husband, Paul, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Steven Messick and his wife, Vicky, of Burlington, N.C.; Janice Bowen Pritchett and her husband, Larry, of Easley, S.C.; Judy Bowen Bell of Easley, S.C.; Beth Bowen of Columbia, S.C. and dear friend, Nancy Chastain; and Michael Bowen and his wife, Jill, of Lillington, N.C. She was preceded in death by her brother T. Paul Messick and sister, Lois M. Bowen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, January 29, 2015 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ray Wittman. Miss Messick will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Wednesday.
