Julia Teresa Curtin Braun, age 85, of Twin Lakes went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Passaic, New Jersey and the wife of 65 years to Herbert C. Herb Braun, Sr. who survives. Julia graduated from Passaic High School and Eagans Secretarial School, however her lifelong work was that of a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed a full life filled with cooking, gardening, sewing and ballroom dancing. Julia lived in both Chapel Hill and Greensboro prior to her move to Twin Lakes in Burlington. She will be remembered by her family for her devotion to her husband and the game of golf. She was the Womens Golf Champion at Chapel Hill Country Club and Forest Oaks Country Club. Survivors include her husband, Herbert C. Herb Braun, Sr. of the home; daughter, Gail Patricia Braun of Raleigh; son and daughter-in-law, Herbert C. Neil Braun, Jr. and his wife, Chris Husenovic of Burlington; granddaughter, Amanda Braun Badger; sister, Mary Agnes Collins of Virginia and a brother, Michael Curtin of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael J. and Mary Agnes Klein Curtin. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Alamance Memorial Park in the Mausoleum Chapel by Reverend Bernie Hess, Chaplain of Hospice. The family will receive friends following the service. The family wants to express our appreciation to the caregivers from Arcadia, Twin Lakes and Hospice for her care. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to the charity of the donors choice.
