Judy Wyrick

Gibsonville-Judy Kay Wyrick, 69, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at her home. Judy was born in Guilford County on January 18, 1950 to the late Paul Lorenza Wyrick, Sr. and Edna Helen Nelson Wyrick and her adopted parents, the late Henry Franklin Wyrick and Ada Franklin King Wyrick.

Judy was a school teacher and a certified sitter. She taught for many years at Vidahlia, Apples Chapel and Browns Wesleyan. She had a heart for children and she helped raise her God child, Amera Abudames. Judy received her undergrad degree from Central Wesleyan College in South Carolina and her Masters degree from Presbyterian College in Virginia. Judy was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and a former Sunday School teacher. Her testimony for the Lord as her health declined was an inspiration to everyone she met. Judy especially enjoyed the Crazy Supper Club and their great times of fellowship. In her spare time she loved to work puzzles and be around children.

Judy is survived by her sister, Pauline Odum of Randleman, brother-in-law, Howard Harvell, Sr., numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and “Tripper” her favorite feline buddy and support while confined for many years at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Alice Harvell and a brother, Paul L. Wyrick, Jr.

She wanted to thank her great doctorate staff for the exceptional care, support and concern: Dr. Patricia Triplett, Dr. David Tarter, Dr. Rebecca Everly, Dr. Edward Weller and Dr. Anthony Nottage.

A special thank you to Michael Rayle, Pat and Jimmy Frazier, Melvin and Carol Chrismon, Eunice and Dan Johnson, Ronnie and Pat Summers, Melodie Sims, Don and Nelda Robbins, Bernard and Debbie Jarrett, Steve and Lisa Zimmerman, Johnny and Cindy Calhoun, Leland and Pat Cutler, Barbara and Leroy Cross, Rachel Cook, Cathy Currie, Holly may, Sharon May and Sarah May.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 11:00AM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45am prior to the service on Monday in the chapel. The graveside service will be held on 1:00PM on Monday afternoon at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro.

The body will be available for viewing on Sunday afternoon from 1:00-5:00PM at the funeral home.
