Judy Lovell Rivenbark, born March 27, 1947, was called home by our Lord on August 20, 2021, at Hospice Home of Alamance after a valiant battle against cancer. She was a native of Rockingham County and the daughter of the late Eldredge “Squire” Lovell and Ruby Lovell.
She loved the Lord, husband, children, and grandchildren with a passion. She had a heart full of love which she shared with not only family, immediate and extended, but with her friends as well. She loved fiercely and strongly and had a way of making people feel important. Her warm smile and laughter were infectious. She was tender-hearted and chose a profession in which she served her community with compassion and kindness in her role at Alamance Regional Medical Center as a Radiologic Technologist, retiring as Assistant Chief of the Radiology Department after 41 years of service. She knew she was doing the Lord’s work and enjoyed her job immensely. She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church. She was a giver, not a receiver, and derived much joy and pleasure from helping those around her in need including family, friends, and strangers. If someone was in need, without hesitation, she would give everything she had whether it be emotional, physical, and/or financial support, and she never expected recognition or anything in return. She was loved so very much by her family and will continue to be loved as well as missed every day.
She is survived by her husband, best friend, and love of her life of 53 years, Wilton “Wilt” Brice Rivenbark, Jr.; her daughter, Amanda “Mandy” Rivenbark McGill and boyfriend, John Saitta; her grandchildren, Jack McGill and Kate McGill; her son, Wilton “Brice” Rivenbark, III and girlfriend, Suzi Gardiner; her brother, Robert “Butch” Hunter Lovell and wife, Pat Lovell.
Her family will celebrate her life on August 24, 2021, at 5:30 pm in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Authoracare Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn 38105.
We love you, Mama
