Judy Ann Nichols King, 67, of Elon Ossipee Rd. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a long struggle with her illness. She was born in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late David and Edna Nichols. She was married for 43 years to her loving husband Haywood B. King who survives. Judy was a very active member of Ossipee Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse at Alamance Memorial Hospital and Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a surrogate mother to many. She is survived by her husband of the home, daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda and Ray Mahaley of Haw River, Leona Taylor of Elon; son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Jenny Harris of Gibsonville; son-in-law, Timmy Campbell of Elon; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Bob London of Landis; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Carol Nichols of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Nicolas Campbell of Elon, Ashley and Seth Tucker of Gibsonville, Jason and Linda Mahaley of Saxapahaw, Jordan Mahaley of Haw River, Michael Brooks of Haw River, Crystal Winn, Laura Winn and Dillon Winn of Gibsonville and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Joshua Mahaley. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Ossipee Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Wilkerson with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
