Judy Handy

Mrs. Judy Riggs Handy, age 65, of Burlington, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Hospice Home after a long battle with cancer. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late S. F. Riggs and the late Minnie Truitt Riggs and was married for over 47 years to Russell Wayne Handy, who survives. She was employed with Lemco Mills and had over 25 years of service. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Handy is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Wayne Handy of Burlington and Cavin Handy and his wife, Kimla, of Liberty; two grandchildren, Kerrie Handy and Ciera Handy; a step granddaughter, Tiffany Bowman; a step great granddaughter, Clair Bowman; five sisters, Carol Moore of Sanford, Linda Faye Stanley, Nancy Turner and Lilly Light, all of Burlington, and Jane Clapp of Gibsonville; a brother-in-law, Tommy Handy and his wife, Myra, of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, January 8, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
