Burlington- Judith Anne Worrock Walsh, 62, of 2202 Canterbury Dr. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. on June 2, 1944 to the late Ralph and Dorothy Olmstead Landen. Judith was a former employee of Alamance Community College serving as a counselor. She was of the Christian faith and a member of First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. Mrs. Walsh was the first person to make history at UNC Chapel Hill hospital, where she received a dual organ transplant of a heart and kidney in 1994. She credited the Lord for 12 extra years of life, making her the longest dual organ transplant survivor. Survivors include a daughter, Emily Walsh May and her husband Dwight L. May of Burlington; two grandchildren, Dwight Moody May and Jacob Parker May both of Burlington; two step-grandchildren, Summer Marie May and Misty Lynn May both of McLeansville, N.C.; one brother, Charles Landen of Chesterfield, Virginia; a favorite aunt, Nellie Olmstead of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and an uncle, Francis and Helen Olmestead of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earle Fincher officiating. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the funeral home.
