Burlington, NC Judith "Judy" Leonard Clayton, age 67, of Haw River Hopedale Road went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2008. She was a native of Cabarrus County and the wife of over 51 years to Jimmy Albert Clayton who survives. Judy was employed for many years at Seven Point Hosiery. She was a member of Cedar Cliff United Methodist church where she was in the United Methodist Women's Circle# 1. Judy enjoyed life and she devoted her life to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Lord blessed Judy with a love for children and for capturing memories through photography. Survivors include her husband of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela Dawn Barber and her husband, Ronald of Greensboro, Kimberly Porter and her husband, Dwayne of Mebane and Amy Clayton King and her husband, Jason of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie Babcock and her husband, George of Mebane, Margie Williams and her husband, Gene of Altamahaw; brother and sister-in-law, Louis Richard "Dick" Leonard, jr. and his wife, Shirley of Summerfield Florida. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda "Boopy" Faye Clayton Carter; grandson, Christopher Michael West; parents, Louis Richard and Lottie Mae Hinson Leonard; sister, Audrey Ann Chappel and a half sister, Claudine Leonard. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church by Rev. Jimmy Wooten and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home. Mrs. Clayton's body will be available for viewing at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church for the service.
