Mr. Judah Bricker, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Twin Lakes Retirement Community.

Judah was born July 1, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Harry and Reve Bricker.  He attended the University of the State of New York, where he had received a full scholarship and received his doctorate in Law.  He also served in the US Army from 1945 – 1947 and earned his honorable discharge.  Judah became a math teacher and later a Principal in the Manhattan school district until his retirement.  He and his wife Ruth moved to North Carolina in 1984 and became community members of Twin Lakes in 2003, where he made many friends.  He was passionate about the game of tennis, and was ranked in the Top 10 players in the country in several different age brackets.  He also loved to play bridge and taught it to many others over the years.  Judah and Ruth were avid travelers and, along with a core group of like-minded friends, visited many destinations over the years.  Spending time with his family and grandchildren was his favorite thing to do, and they will miss his witty jokes and sense of humor that he was well known for.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Nilsen Bricker; son, Jonathan Bricker; and brother, Dr. Arnold Bricker.

Judah is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Stephens and husband Jeff; daughter in law, Vicky Bricker; grandchildren, Tiegan Soria and husband Carlos, Gavin Suits and wife Monica, and Cassidy Bricker.

A celebration of Judah’s life will be held at 1 PM on Friday, December 2, 2022 in the Chapel of Twin Lakes with Pastor Darrell Cox officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  A private interment will be held at Freiden’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 2722 US-601, Mocksville, NC  27028 or Frieden’s Lutheran Church, 6001 NC Hwy 61N, Gibsonville, NC  27249.
