Juanita West

Lena Juanita Hill West, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at ARMC.  A native of Grayson County, VA, she was born April 29, 1940 to the late Emmitt Wesley and Zella Mae Phipps Hill and was the wife of the late John Wesley West.

Juanita was the owner and operator of J & J Cut and Sew for over 20 years. She attended Harvest Hills Church where she enjoyed cooking for the church bake sales. She loved to sew and cook and was an avid Tar Heel Fan. Juanita and her daughter enjoyed traveling together. She loved her dog, “Scooter” and cat “Kit-Kat”. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Harmon and husband, Junior of Galax, Virginia; son, Tommy Martin of Liberty and E. W. Martin of Burlington; grandchildren, Travis Martin, Michael Martin, Brittany Martin, Chad (Angel) Harmon and Shawny Jones; great grandchildren, Brooke Harmon and Tanner Jones; sisters, Elizabeth Smith of Walnut Cove, Jewlene Montgomery of Lexington and Clarice Greenhalgh of Greensboro; brothers, Billy Claston Hill and wife, Linda Marie of Walkertown and Harley Ray Hill and wife, Janet of Walnut Cove .She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Glenna Hill Young.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Russell Morris and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45Am prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
