Joyce Moorehead

Joyce Wyrebaugh Moorehead, 89, passed away Monday, December
12, 2016 at Twin Lakes Retirement Community Memory Care Center, where she was a resident for the last four years.
A native of Defiance, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Bernard and Mable Stenger Wyrebaugh and wife of the late Roger Lee Moorehead who passed away in 2014.
She was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church, where she was an active member. She often taught Sunday School at their local churches in Defiance, OH., Kinston,NC., and at Davis Street United Methodist in Burlington, NC. Joyce was a trusted volunteer at local hospitals (Pink Ladies) and also volunteered countless hours at Caswell Center in Kinston, NC. Joyce was also one of the first to work as a guide at the new Burlington Manufacturer Outlet Center (BMOC).
Survivors include her sons, Randy Moorehead and wife Cheryl of Raleigh and Reggie Moorehead and wife Susan of Mebane; grandchildren, Mitch Moorehead, Matt Moorehead, Michael Moorehead and Mandra M. Wirick; sister, Carol Wing of Toledo, OH. Five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers Richard Wyrebaugh, Jerry Wyrebaugh and Bill Wyrebaugh and sisters, Jeanne Wyrebaugh and Margo W. Young.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, December 16, 2016 in
Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Michael Hobbs. The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Reggie and Susan Moorehead, 640 Chapel Trail, Mebane, NC. Interment services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, OH.
