Joyce Durham

Joyce Tillett Durham, 83 of Burlington NC went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 26, 2019 after six months of failing health. She was a native of Sacramento California and the daughter of Florence and Roy Tillett, both deceased. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald Wesley Durham.
Joyce lived out her faith at St. Lukes United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years, worked with the youth and was a faithful member of the choir. Joyce was a volunteer with Alamance Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and a member of the women’s auxiliary of the Gideon’s International, Alamance West Camp.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Tanya Edwards and husband, Lee;  Son Eric Durham and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Matthew Edwards and his girlfriend Nicole, Adam Durham, Amy Burcham and husband Robert, Jason Durham and girlfriend Haleigh, Great Grandchildren Nolyn Durham, Payton, Robbie and Jeremiah Burcham, Sister Shirley Sanfilippo and husband Chuck and Sister-in-law Eva Lynn Smith.
The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00AM at  St. Luke’s United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tommy Privett, the Rev. Lee Edwards and the Rev. Gerald Collins with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30-10:45AM prior to the service and other times at the home.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses and staff from Hospice of Alamance and Anita Beaber her sitter for their loving care.
