Joy Carter

Joy Bearman Carter, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Essex, England to the late Albert E. and Charlotte Warren Bearman and was married to the late Wallace Wayne Carter. Joy retired from UNC Chapel Hill and attended Baptist Temple.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Carter Bell (Denton) of Raleigh and Caroline Carter Hill (Steven) of Graham; grandchildren, Melissa Webster, Joshua Hill (Aydrean) and ten great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Don Carter and Rev. David Carter with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and also on Wednesday from 7-9 PM at the residence, 109 Woodland Drive, Elon.
