Joshua Mitchell

Burlington - Joshua Michael Mitchell, 33, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017. He was born on January 24, 1984 to the late John Michael "Mike" Mitchell and Jane "Janie" Ivey Mitchell who survives.

Joshua is a child of God. He was a member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church where he was an original member of the "Hands of Life" Puppet Ministry.

He loved collecting and watching movies, spending time boating and fishing at White Lake and enjoyed gathering at the "land" with his friends. He was proud of his work with Ritchie Oakley Landscaping.

Joshua is survived by his mom, Janie; aunts, Debra (Jason) Elmore, Doris (Mike) Nixon; uncles, Roger Dale (Sally) Ivey, Ricky Ivey and Joey Mitchell; cousins, Morgan, Katelyn, Jordan, Jennifer and Emily; great aunts, Carolyn, Laura and Faye; great uncle, Ray.

He was preceded in death by his dad and best friend, Mike; maternal grandparents, Katie and Willie Ivey; paternal grandparents, Betty and John Mitchell and a great grandma, Pearl Ivey.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bennie Smith with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home.
