Josephine Walker

Josephine Berri Walker, 95, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born in Humocao, Puerto Rico to the late Gregorio Ortiz Alicea and the late Sra. Alandra Reyes Alicea and was married to the late John Elbert "Doc" Walker who died in 2001. Josephine retired from the textile industry and was a member of the Alamance Lutheran Church. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Becky Roberts and husband, Fred of High Point, Nancy Shepherd and Betty Matherly both of Gibsonville, Lucy Shaff of South Carolina, Chris Thrift of Tennessee and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters and brothers. The funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Alamance Lutheran Church by Rev. James Lockley with entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at the church Saturday prior to the service.
