Josephine Johnson

Josephine Murray Johnson, 75, of 706 Huffman Mill Rd. passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Johnson was born December 27, 1932 in Guilford county to the late Alvis M. Murray and Mary Ashley Murray. She was married 50 years to the late Gordon Lee Johnson, Sr. until his death November 9, 2007. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hill and Tim of Summerfield; two sons, Harold Johnson of Florida and Gordon Lee Johnson, III of Burlington; four grandchildren, David James "D. J." Hill, Amber Nicole Hill, Travis Hill, and Justin Johnson; two sisters, Louise Stanley of Ruffin, and Lois Mae Wheeler of Burlington. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by two sons, Gordon Lee Johnson, Jr. and Jerry Wayne Johnson. A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Mrs. Johnson will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening, August 25, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
