Joseph Valcone

Mr. Joseph Valcone, age 81, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Elmo Milford Valcone and the late Rose Ricco Valcone. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He retired from the City of New York and was of the Catholic faith. Joseph was a volunteer for Hospice, was active with the Kernodle Senior Center and was an avid bowler. Mr. Valcone is survived by his five children, Joseph Valcone and his wife, Barbara, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Heather Rubin and her husband, Adam, of Boone, NC, Donna Vazquez of Bangor, PA, Paul Valcone and his wife, Allison, and Lynn Frey and her husband, David, all of Long Island, NY; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Ann Bresnahan, of Long Island, NY.
