Joseph McGuire

Joseph Eugene "Mac" McGuire, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born July 20, 1930 to the late Bruce Franklin and Kate Burgess McGuire, Sr. and was married for 51 years to Charlotte Councilman McGuire of the home. Mac was a member of Trinity Worship Center. He was employed with Western Electric for many years before retiring and enjoyed coaching and umpiring. Survivors include his wife, daughter, Vickie Parrish Overman of Burlington; sons, Lawrence Parrish and wife Betty of Graham, Jay McGuire and wife Debbie of Concord and Gary Blaine McGuire of Burlington; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and a sister, Leona Underwood and husband, Bill. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Trinity Worship Center by Pastor Bennie Smith and Pastor Darrell Cox with the inurnment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home.
