Joseph Jarrett, Jr.

Joseph Peter "Joe" Jarrett, Jr., age 75, of Birch Bridge Rd., died July 22, 2013 at his home after a brief illness. Born in Slab Fork, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph Peter Jarrett, Sr. and the late Ruth Ferguson Jarrett. Joe was a U.S. Army veteran and later graduated from Elon University with a major in History. He retired from Sears Roebuck after many years of service and was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church. Joe was an avid North Carolina Tarheel fan and loved cars. Mr. Jarrett is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Lauren Jarrett of Knoxville, TN; his son, Timothy "Tim" Jarrett and his wife, Carrie, of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren, Chase, Jonah, Hope, Cristina, Anthony and Katherine; and the mother of his children, Vicki Grant, of Knoxville, TN. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Gibsonville United Methodist Church by Rev. Cybil Parks. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Interment will take place at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV.
