Joseph Harris

Jacksonville, NC Joseph Michael Mike Harris, 65, of 401 Woodland Dr. died on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Alamance after battling cancer for eight months. He was born in Alamance County to the late John Joseph Harris and Jean Hunter Worrell, and graduated from Walter Williams High School. Mike was the retired owner of Harris Auto Sales in Jacksonville, NC. He was a loving father. He was a lover of the outdoors and an avid gardener and fisherman. He is survived by his fiance, Suzy Barnes of Jacksonville; daughters, Alicia Dawn Williams and Wendy Renee Saul, both of Burlington; son, Ashley Michael Mike Harris, US Air Force and his wife Kristina of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Randy Saul, Sheridan Saul and Deanna Saul; siblings, Wayne Harris, Eric Harris, Angela Long and Teresa Gray. The family will receive friends from 6-9 Wednesday evening at the home of his sister, Teresa Gray, 131 Hillside Drive, Burlington. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at UNC Cancer Hospital and Hospice Home of Alamance for taking such wonderful care of Mr. Harris.
