Gibsonville- Joseph Samuel "Joe Sam" Edmonds, age 67, of 4292 McIntyre Road in Gibsonville, died Tuesday August 5, 2008 at Duke University Hospital. He was born in Guilford County on September 30, 1940 to Floyd Samuel and Nellie Edmonds. Mr. Edmonds was a veteran, serving in the US Army for 4 years. He was a loving husband, soulmate, best friend, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and uncle. People who knew him know he lived life to the fullest, not taking a day for granted. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sue Edmonds of the home; one son, Ronald Penny Robinson of Elon; stepchildren, Tammy Bill Oxford of Goldsboro, Debbie Roger Wyrick of Madison and Robbie Sonya Robinson of Bethany; parents, Floyd Samuel and Nellie Edmonds; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Aheron; brothers: Jim Dan Edmonds and Pete Edmonds; many nieces, nephews, and friends. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Jack Lemons with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.
