Joseph Currie, Sr.

Joseph Glen Currie, Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at his home. He was born October 30, 1940 in Alamance County to the late Hubert and Elizabeth Haith Currie and was married to Annie Elizabeth Graves Currie for fifty-three years. Joseph was retired from the Alamance Country Club after fifty plus years of service. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a hard worker who was always happy and smiling. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of the home, daughters; Joyce Miles, Erlene Currie, Lynn Shoffner all of Burlington, Joanne Otuonye of Greensboro, Jamie Currie of Greensboro, sons; Joseph G. Currie, Jr., and wife Linda of Gibsonville, Rodney Currie of Syracuse, NY, Curtis Currie and wife Sharon, Jason Currie and wife Brittnay all of Burlington, Jeff Currie of Burlington, sisters; Dorothy Corbett and husband Dewey, Helen Tyner, Betty Corbett all of Burlington, brothers; Leo Currie and wife Edith, Alfonzo Currie and wife Pattie all of Burlington, twenty-five grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. There will be a private graveside service. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home.
