Jose Antonio Silva, 57, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. He was born in St. Croix, Virgin Islands to the late Carmelo and Carmen Manuela Encarnacion Silva and was the husband of Magdalena Baez Silva who survives.
Jose retired as a Police officer in the Virgin Islands after many years of service. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. Jose was a avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed boxing and all kinds of other sports, Jose was a great dancer and enjoyed Salsa, Bachata and Calypso music. He was devoted to his family and friends.
Survivors other than his wife, Magdalena Baez Silva of the home; include his daughters, Denise Ramos (Carlos Fernandez), Xiomara Y. Silva (Rudy Aguilera), Jordalie Marie Silva (Darryl Hawkins) all of the home; sons, Jordanee Silva, Jan-muel Silva and Jan-niel Silva all of the home; grandchildren, Carlos Fernandez, Jr. and Julian Robin Aguilera; sisters, Nancy Silva Sendar and husband, Lucien of Burlington and Luz Z. Silva of the Virgin Islands; brother, Jose Carlos Silva of Burlington; his extended family, Patricia Castillo, Mary Guzmán, Xiomara Encarnacion, Evelyn Finch and Michelle Encarnacion; special friends, Lt. Marisol. Lt. Naomi Joseph and Lt. Deborah Hodge and numerous others. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Suzette Silva.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00am Monday, October 10, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the burial to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10am to 10:45am Monday prior to the service at the church and on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory from 3pm to 5pm.
