Jordan Taylor Mays

Jordan Taylor Mays, 28, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. He was born on February 23, 1994 in Cabarrus County to Timothy Wayne Mays and Dawn Pattishall Lane both surviving.

Ginger haired, fair skinned, blue/yellow eyed Jordan was a lake baby. He lived at High Rock Lake for most of his 28 years, where his Mamaw and Papaw had a house. He loved everything about that easy-going fun lifestyle. Many days through the years were spent boating, jet skiing, wake boarding and fishing and spending time there with his cousins.

Jordan loved anything with an element of danger, jumping into the lake from a bridge, flips off a buoy and fast cars. He was artistic, creative, a foodie and a deep thinker with his distinct ideas and philosophies about many things. More than all, we who loved him know the one element central to Jordan’s being was that his heart was HUGE. He loved bigger and felt emotions more deeply than most do.

Survivors other than his mother, Dawn Pattishall Lane of Whitsett and his father, Timothy Wayne Mays of Salisbury, include his sister, Mikaley Lane of Graham; maternal grandmother, Barbara Pattishall of Burlington; maternal aunts, Terry Pattishall of Burlington, Robin Felts of Greensboro and Jamie (Steve) Baldwin of Elon; paternal uncle, Scott Mays of Lexington; a niece, Carleigh Freeman; special cousins, Whitney Hokanson, Dylan Mays and numerous other cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Preston Sean Freeman; maternal grandfather, Wilton Pattishall; maternal grandmother, Patsy Pattishall and paternal grandparents, Donald and Mary Mays.
