Johnny Lowe, Sr.

Johnny Allen Lowe, Sr., 65, of 2879 Mt. Hope Church Rd died on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at his home after six months declining health. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Priscilla Greeson Lowe and son of the late Benny Theodore Lowe and Maggie Sharpe Lowe who survives. He worked together with his son at The Moose Works and was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of the home, children, Kimberly Hamby and her husband Wayne of Julian, John Michael "Moose" Lowe of Greensboro, Angela Straughan and her husband Timothy of Julian, Johnny Allen "Tubby" Lowe, Jr. and his wife Gayle of Greensboro; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; mother of Alamance; sisters, Shirley Conklin of Laurinburg, Patsy Shambley of GA, Bonnie Lowe of Alamance, Sue Brooks of Burlington, Sylvia McCormick of Alamance, Rhonda Branham and Priscilla Townsend, both of Liberty and brothers, Benny and Robert Lowe, both of Liberty, and Dexter Lowe of Burlington. The funeral will be held at 4:00 PM Friday at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ by Dr. Walter Patten and Pastor Steve Saunders. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
