Johnny Alcon

Johnny Alcon, 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Edward and Vannie “Annie” Alcon and was married to Ellen Alcon who passed in 2000.

Johnny was a faithful member of Hope River Church where he attended for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as in his garden. Johnny was also known for being an avid fisherman. 

Johnny is survived by his son; Johnny David Alcon, daughters; Sherry Lynn Flynn and Penny Denise English, grandchildren; Colby Flynn, Madison Flynn, and Ashley English, great grandchildren; Ellie Flynn, Colby Flynn and Dean Flynn, sisters; Shirley Creasey and husband John and Faye Greeson. He was preceded in death by his wife; Ellen Alcon and parents; Edward and Vannie Alcon. 

A Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM at Hope River Church on Friday, August 16, 2024 by Rev. Larry Pope and Rev. Billy Roy with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 prior to the service at the church as well as other times at the home.
