John David Duncan

John David Duncan, 57, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Graham on Friday May 29, 2020.  A native of Graham, NC, John was born to F. Patrick and Betty H. Duncan in 1962.

John earned a bachelor of science degree in computer information science from Elon University in 1989.  He also earned an MBA from Duke University Fuqua School of Business in 1995 and worked as an IT manager in the textiles, retail and health services industries. John loved writing and playing music for others and with his son Ethan. He also enjoyed playing golf, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family. John served as a deacon at Central Baptist Church in Henderson, NC and was actively involved with Friendly Hills Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, NC. His special sense of humor was enjoyed by everyone who knew him.

John is survived by his children Emily Noelle Duncan and Ethan Patrick Duncan of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his parents F. Patrick and Betty H. Duncan of Graham, NC; and his siblings Daniel Duncan of Greensboro, NC, Jeanne Ennis of Fayetteville, NC and Dr. Gabriel Duncan of Holly Springs, NC.

The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
