Burlington-John Warren Taylor-Barbour, age 40 passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. John worked for 12 years as a CNA in the ER at Duke University Medical Center. He was gifted with many culinary skills and enjoyed music, especially singing. John was known for his ability to make other laugh and his great sense of humor. He is survived by Jamey Barbour, his life partner of 16 years of the home and their dogs, "Phoebe" and "Grace", mother, Maydra Reyes and step father, Glenn Cuthill of Sprague River, Oregon; father , William "Bill" Taylor and step mother, Rose of Mountain View, California; sister, Shana Taylor Henika and husband, Jason of San Jose, California; brother, Karl Waldherr, Jr. of Klamath Falls, Oregon; nieces, Julia, Olivia and Amelia; nephews, Luke and Tanner; special cousin, Stephen Taylor. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Warren "Bud" Taylor and maternal grandparents, Julia Maria Santiago and Santiago Reyes Hernandez; paternal grandparents, Kathryn and Elwood "Dick" Taylor. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
