John Shoffner

John Thomas "Tommy" Shoffner, 85, formerly of Mt. Hope Church Rd., passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at White Oak Manor in Burlington. He was born in Guilford County to the late Thomas Joyner and Mary Nora Greeson Shoffner and was married to the late Lorena Garrett Shoffner. Tommy was a residential construction supervisor who enjoyed wood working and was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ. He is survived by his sons, John Samuel "Sam" Pat Shoffner of Liberty, Daniel Lee "Danny" Shoffner of Whitsett and Thomas Philip "Phil" Carla Shoffner of Wylie, TX; granddaughters, Amber Collins-Shoffner and Shelly Collins-Shoffner; great granddaughter, Persephone Amber Shoffner-Little; sisters, Mazie Coulman, Osa Rea McAdoo and brother, Leonard Shoffner. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Staley, Swannie Belle Johnson, Georgia Emma May, Maggie Lea Coble and brother, Richard Shoffner. The service will be private. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Shoffner family.
