John Payne

John Henry Payne, 81, passed away Saturday October 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 8, 1933 in Guilford County to the late John Will and Mary Cleo Brown Payne. John was the husband of the late Virginia "Ginger" Summers Payne. John was a farmer in the Osceola community for many years. He was a very generous and forgiving person who never met a stranger. He always had a smile and a story for you and was always glad to see you. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Payne of Browns Summit, sons; Greg Payne of Browns Summit, Randy Payne and his wife Tina and their sons; Michael Payne and Ethan Payne all of Browns Summit, a sister Jo Ann Green and her husband Otis of Reidsville and all his close friends and relatives in the surrounding community.. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Pastor Dave Johnson and Rev. Joe West. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 PM Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and other times at the home.
