John Odee

John Steven Odee, 85 of 2125 Cherry Court passed away Friday April 3, 2009 at the Hospice Home. John was a first generation American born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania February 6, 1924 to the late Steven and Sarah Brown Odee after coming to America from Italy. He was married for almost 65 years to Ruth Vincent Odee who survives. He retired from Okonite Cable Company after 38 years of service. He was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church and served in the US Navy. John was an avid walker and loved to bowl. He was also a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and neighbor. He will be missed by all, especially his neighbors in Burlington and his former neighbors in Ft. Myers, Florida. Survivors include his wife of the home, a son and daughter-in-law Steve and Cathy Odee of Burlington, grandchildren; Daniel Odee, Christina Odee, Brittany Odee, Felicia Odee, a sister Angelina Odee of Johnstown, PA and a brother Thomas Odee of Clifton, NJ, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. There will a memorial service at a later date to celebrate his life.
