Greensboro - John R. Murdock, Jr., 75, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was born in Statesville, NC on April 24, 1947 to the late John Roger Murdock, Sr. and Annie Gallus who survives.
John was a veteran who faithfully served in the US Marines Corps. He was employed with Sherwin Williams for many years and also Michelman Inc. Some of his greatest joys were riding his motorcycle, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include his daughters, Tracie Sumner and husband Scott, Cameron Odom and husband Adam, Molly Murdock, Amy Murdock; mother, Annie Gallus; brother, Tony Murdock; grandchildren, Morgan Sumner, Lauren Sumner, Kaleigh Horne, Michael Odom; great granddaughter, Addalynn Jones; nieces, Samantha Haynes and husband Matthew, Denise Ore, Shannon Lloyd and nephew Randy Bray.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Pat Flynn.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Darrell Massey with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
