John Long

John Byron Long, 91, passed away Thursday April 19, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born June 6, 1926 in Alamance county to the late John Wesley and Eva Mae Mitchell Long and was married to the late Helen Duffer Long. John served in the US Army during WWII. He was the owner and operator of Burlington Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Elks Club and Moose Lodge.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrell Massey. Entombment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends 12:45 -1:45 PM Sunday prior to the funeral.
Memorials may be made to the Masonic Children's Home, Shriners Hospital for Children or the charity of your choice.
