Gibsonville, NC John Larry Johnson, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Larry was a native of Chatham County and the husband of 23 years to Kaye Marley Johnson who survives. Larry was employed for many years with Thompson - Arthur Paving and he later retired from T & T Paving. He was an auxiliary policeman for Gibsonville for many years and he was a veteran of the US Army Reserves. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Kaye Marley Johnson of the home; sons, James "Keith" Johnson and his wife, Diane of Bethlehem, New Hampshire and Jason Lee Johnson and his wife, Valerie of Gibsonville; daughter, Deborah Johnson Huber and her husband, Chris of Arnold, Missouri; grandchildren, Camden Reid Johnson, Gabriel Joseph Johnson, Aaron Seth Johnson, Brandon James Anthony, Emily Elizabeth Anthony and Brittany Nicole Huber; sister, Sue Johnson Burgess and her husband, Bill of Julian and a brother, Sidney Johnson and his wife, Mary Ann of Burlington and an Aunt Maude Johnson Batchelor of Asheville. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sidney and Mary Estelle Bost Johnson; sisters, Gladys Johnson Culberson, Mary Lois Johnson White and Helen Johnson Beckom; brothers, Ray Johnson and Clyde Johnson. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Brightwood Christian Church by Pastor Ricky Cox and the burial will follow at Brightwood Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:45 until 2:45 pm on Sunday and other times at the home.
