John Hensley

John Thomas Hensley, 88, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Alamance Healthcare surrounded by his family. He was born in Alamance County to the late George Washington Hensley and Edna Alice McPherson Hensley and was married for 55 years to the late Jean Allred Hensley.

John was a retired truck driver, a US Navy veteran and enjoyed flea markets.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Ann Poole; sons, Thomas Hensley and Tim Hensley; special son, Roger Poole; sisters, Marie Jones and Priscilla Steele; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters, Kay Kivett, Mozelle Murray, Gracie Evans and Shirley Tosh; brothers, Earl Hensley and Junior Hensley.

The funeral service will be held 4:00pm Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Tommy Cook. The family will receive friends from 2:30pm to 3:45pm Saturday prior to the service.
