John Flood

John Richard Flood, 91, died Tuesday Jan. 3, 2012 in Twin Lakes Communities Memory Care Center in Burlington, NC. He was born March 8, 1920 in Springfield, OH to the late Roy and Cora Flood. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marvelle. He is survived by his wife, Anna Jean Walters Flood and daughters Martha Sturtz Richard of Anderson, SC and Nancy Staley Jim of Davidson, NC; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Glass of Springfield. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Phillipines and attended Wittenberg University. He retired from R&M as a Quality Control supervisor after 42 years of service and then moved to Carolina Trace, Sanford, NC. John was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Anthony Lodge # 455 A.F.& A.M.. He enjoyed photography, wood working, tennis and golf.
