Graham–John Maron Coleman, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Randolph County, he was the son of the late Numer L. and Hannah Osborne Coleman and was married for over 60 years to the late Jean Hood Coleman.
John retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol and continued his career retiring from NCDMV. He was a Graduate and Alumni of Guilford College and served in the US Army Reserves. John received The Order of the Long Leaf Pine from Governor James B. Hunt, Jr. in 1994 for outstanding service to our state. He was a former member of Burlington Assembly of God and attended Lamb’s Chapel. John was an avid UNC Tarheel fan and golfer. He loved horses and enjoyed supporting his daughter, Kristen at Horse Shows. He spent many happy hours with family and friends at White Lake and the beach. John enjoyed riding jet skis and snowmobiles in Yellowstone Park with his family. He enjoyed a variety of music and especially George Strait. John was so proud of his grandson, Alex and of his many accomplishments in the swimming competitions.
John is survived by his daughter; Kristen Coley and husband, Greg of Burlington; his grandson, Alex Coley of Burlington; his sister, Mary Allen and husband, Danny of High Point and a special friend, Phoebe Burkheart of Ramseur.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:00AM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bryan Rainbow. The burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
